When the patient arrives at Albert Place, a 6-point periodontal chart and radiographs will be taken to record the base-line condition of the patient’s periodontium. A copy of these will be sent to the GDP and to the patient. Oral hygiene instruction will be given and interdental brushes provided.
The treatment cycle will then proceed with a 2-visit full mouth disinfection, augmented by antibiotic therapy and followed by a 3 month review to assess initial results and patient compliance. This initial treatment phase is covered by a fixed charge reassuring the patient that treatment costs will not get out of control.
A short report will be provided at this point so that the GDP and patient can decide whether further treatment or assessment is necessary. If further treatment is suggested and accepted we are happy to continue with 3 monthly maintenance and further full assessment 12 months after initial therapy. There are additional charges for these services. [back]
